Job summary

Hartford Hospital in Connecticut seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead North 12, a large medical unit. You will supervise a work group, schedule assignments, and drive performance to align with the hospital's goals.

Under the Nurse Manager's direction, you will coach staff, monitor quality and productivity, and help develop staff through evaluations and targeted improvements to patient care.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work highly preferred.
• Specialty certification highly preferred.
• Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• The assistant nurse manager supervises a work group to ensure that a high quality, cost-effective product or service is delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan.
• They model the effective, efficient operation of the unit by scheduling and assigning work, resolving processing problems, collecting data to monitor progress.
• They will implement and monitors departmental goals and objectives for the work group that align with the strategic direction of the organization.
• The assistant nurse manager implements individual performance expectations; coaches, develops, and provides input to performance evaluations.
