Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for North 12 to support a patient-centered, interdisciplinary team. Under the Nurse Manager, you will supervise a work group, schedule and assign duties, monitor quality and productivity, and help implement department goals aligned with the hospital's strategic plan.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association and Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
• Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work highly preferred.
• Specialty certification highly preferred.
• Strong communications skills required – both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a work group to ensure a high quality, cost-effective product or service delivered in support of the hospital's strategic plan.
• Schedule and assign work, resolve processing problems, collect data to monitor progress, and carry an assigned workload or fill in as necessary.
• Implements and monitors departmental goals and objectives; analyzes needs and develops recommendations.
• Coaches, develops, and provides input to performance evaluations to enable employees to contribute to objectives.
