Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead a large medical unit in Hartford, CT. Under the Nurse Manager, you will schedule, supervise staff, monitor quality and outcomes, and support a patient-centered care model in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will collaborate with clinical leaders, ensure compliance with hospital policies, drive patient safety and quality initiatives, and contribute to staff development. Connecticut RN license and BSN are required.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS (AHA) and Arrhythmia certification required.
• Prior leadership experience and/or unit committee work preferred.
• Specialty certifications preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a work group to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Schedule and assign staff to meet unit goals and workloads.
• Analyze needs and develop recommendations aligned with organizational strategy.
• Coach and participate in performance evaluations to develop staff.
