Job summary

MU Health Care at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO, seeks a Nurse Tech to support patient care on the Med Surg Unit. The role emphasizes compassionate service, organization, and timely responses to patient needs in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position is on-site with nights, rotating 12-hour shifts and weekend rotation. Base pay ranges from $15.81 to $24.92 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour for evening, night, and weekend shifts, and includes health insurance

Qualifications

• Enrolled in nursing education program or CNA/PCT certification in progress.
• Direct patient care experience in the past three years.
• Will complete required nursing course within 90 days.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize patient needs.
• Complete UAP training within 180 days with 100 hours of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient transfers and meal delivery.
• Answer unit telephones promptly and relay messages accurately.
• Educate and train new Care Team Associates.
• Perform dressing changes and basic patient care tasks as directed.
• Enter information into bed-management system promptly.
• Respond to patient call lights and document vital signs as directed.
• Perform department-specific duties as outlined.
