Job summary

The Georgia Department of Public Health seeks an experienced APRN to perform advanced nursing functions, including women’s health, PrEP, immunizations, and disease management. Work under nurse protocol and physician-prescribed authority to assess, treat, and counsel clients.

This part-time hourly position is not eligible for benefits. Starting pay at $50/hr with potential for qualification-based adjustments. Coastal Health District supports public health across Georgia.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master's degree in nursing and eligibility for Georgia RN/APRN license.
• Certification in specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing.
• APRNs must operate under approved nurse protocol and prescriptive authority agreements.

Under limited supervision the APRN will perform advanced nursing functions in specialized areas to include but not limited to women's health, PrEP for HIV prevention, communicable diseases, and immunizations. The APRN will operate under written nurse protocol and prescriptive authority agreements with their delegating physician to conduct physicals, provide treatment, counsel clients, complete referrals, perform case management/clerical tasks, prescribe medication, and perform additional tasks/duties as assigned.

All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia license as an APRN AND CPR certification.
