Job summary

Coastal Health District in Georgia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support the vaccine program. This part-time hourly role covers inventory counts, vaccine ordering (state and private), and monthly reporting, with 1–2 days per week and variable hours (6, 8, or 10 per day).

The position may increase hours during peak vaccine events and requires an LPN degree, current Georgia LPN license, CPR certification, and completion of the required orientation and training for Public Health LPN.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
• Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification.
• Completion of orientation and training for Public Health LPN.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly inventory counts under nursing supervision.
• Order state and private vaccines and submit required monthly reports.
• 1–2 days per week; hours vary (6, 8, or 10 per day) based on demand.
• Assist with vaccine program administration during peak events.

All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

This is a part‑time hourly position, not eligible for benefits.

Job Responsibilities

Under nursing supervision, will support monthly inventory counts, order state and private vaccines, and submitting required monthly reports. The hours for this position will require 1‑2 days per week. Hours may vary depending on the day of the week (6, 8, or 10). The day of the week will vary based on the demand for inventory management and patient care. Hours may increase during peak vaccine events like back to school, school Flu, and Flu drives. The position will also support the vaccine program by administering vaccines.

Minimum Qualifications

Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification and completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
