Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support public health services across our clinics. The role involves assisting with scheduling, vaccines administration, patient preparation for exams, and maintaining accurate records.
Applicants must hold a Georgia LPN license and CPR certification, and complete required orientation for Public Health LPN duties. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package in the Coastal Health District.

Position can be full time or part-time. Part time position is up to 29 hours per week, no benefits. Part-time hourly rate-$20/hour.
All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
Under direct supervision, aids Public Health Nurses and county programs. Works in our General Clinic department. This role is responsible for the following: 1) assisting with scheduling colposcopy/LEEP appointments, 2) mailing results and education material, 3) administering vaccines, 4) preparing clients for, and assisting with, examinations and treatments, 5) preparing rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures, 6) ordering supplies, 7) providing education to clients, families, and community service providers, 8) delivering health care and first aid, 9) consulting and coordinating with health care team members, 10) maintaining accurate, detailed client records, 11) assisting with billing tasks, submitting women’s health Medicaid applications, 12) participating in community events on occasion, 13) performing clinical tasks such as obtaining vitals, performing pregnancy tests, and collecting blood or other specimens, and lastly executed other clinical and clerical tasks as assigne
PH LPN 1-Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certification and completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. Starting Salary-$32,170
