Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager to lead a designated unit, guiding nursing practice and administrative oversight. The ANOM collaborates with the Nursing Operations Manager on customer experience, budgetary performance, HR activities, and quality outcomes.

The role requires RN licensure and acute-care experience, with advanced certifications and a BSN (MSN/DNP preferred). Strong leadership and collaboration are essential to drive excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN required if no MSN.
• MSN, DNP, or BSN with graduate degree in business or health field preferred.
• Two years of RN experience in an acute setting.
• Current RN licensure in the State (NLC or applicable state).
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Shared 24/7 accountability with the Nursing Operations Manager.
• Participates in recruitment and selection of new team members.
• Coordinates with HR on corrective action and career advancement.
• Investigates event reports and provides feedback to leadership and staff.
• Oversees unit scheduling to ensure proper staff mix for patient care.
• Maintains patient flow oversight and intervenes to meet outcomes.
• Performs nurse leader rounds to identify variance from practice and standards.
• Leads/participates in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes.
• Ensures excellent patient experience and handles service recovery as needed.
• Interfaces with patients and families to coordinate nursing activities.
• Leads staff meetings and huddles; models professional behavior.
