Job summary

Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager (ANOM) to oversee the designated unit with clinical and administrative responsibilities. You will guide nursing practice, monitor budgets, and lead quality outcomes while ensuring patient satisfaction and staff development.

The role requires a BSN with RN licensure in Florida, and prefers candidates with graduate nursing or health-related business training, plus experience in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• BSN required or equivalent.
• Current Florida RN licensure required.
• TNCC, ACLS, PALS or NRP certifications may be required depending on unit.
• Experience in acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shared 24/7 accountability with Nursing Operations Manager.
• Participates in recruitment and selection of new staff for the unit.
• Coordinates with HR on corrective action and career advancement.
• Investigates incident reports and provides feedback to leadership.
• Oversees unit schedules to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Maintains patient flow and ensures expected outcomes.
• Performs Nurse Leader rounds and leads quality improvement.
• Ensures patient experience is upheld and provides service recovery when needed.
• Interfaces with patients and families to coordinate nursing activities.
• Leads staff meetings and huddles; models professional behavior.
