Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to advance nursing practice through education, competency management and onboarding of Hartford HealthCare colleagues.

The NPD practitioner will collaborate with nursing leadership to align learning initiatives with ANA standards and high reliability, guiding professionals from novice to expert while promoting evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment or area of specialty for ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensed RN in CT prior to hire date.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Uses educational design process and adult learning principles to bridge knowledge gaps.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess learning needs and develop programs.
• Monitors clinical competency and supports action plans.
• Promotes professional nursing practice according to ANA standards.
• Endorses theory-based practice from novice to expert.
• Contributes to onboarding and orientation programs.
• Supports change management to drive outcomes.
• Promotes scientific inquiry to advance NPD practice and improve care.
