This role partners with nursing leadership to strengthen competency, onboarding, and practice excellence within a busy hospital setting. The NPD practitioner leads educational programs, mentors staff, and drives evidence-based practice using ANA standards.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum 3 years of active clinical nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care environment or area of specialty for ambulatory/ancillary environments.
• Experience as a preceptor.
• Licensure: CT RN license prior to hire.
• NPD or Clinical Specialty Certification within two years of hire/transfer.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Learning Facilitator: bridges knowledge gaps identified through needs assessment and outcomes evaluation.
• Collaborative Partner: works with nursing leadership to assess learning needs and develop programs.
• Role Development: promotes professional nursing practice per ANA standards.
• Mentor: supports ongoing professional learning and development.
• Competency Management: uses tools to capture knowledge, skills and performance.
• Orientation: develops and evaluates onboarding programs.
