Job summary

Brighton-Place in San Diego, CA seeks a Director of Staff Development (RN/LVN) to lead and evaluate the facility's education programs for all employees and ensure quality assurance.

The role reports to the Administrator and collaborates with the Director of Nurses, coordinating orientation, ongoing in-service training, and compliance with state and federal requirements while maintaining staff proficiency and patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Active RN or LVN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years experience supervising licensed nurses in a long-term care facility.
• 24-hour CE course in planning, implementing and evaluating nursing education programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate theory and clinical orientation for all new employees.
• Maintain documentation supporting orientation and staff files.
• Ensure timely History/Physicals and TB screenings within 7 days of employment.
• Coordinate annual in-service education to meet state and federal regulations.
