Job summary

Mesa-Verde-Post-Acute-Care-Center in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Director of Staff Development RN/LVN to plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs for all employees, and oversee quality assurance.

Under supervision of Administrator and Director of Nurses, this role coordinates orientation, mandatory in-services, and annual 24-hour training in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN or LVN license in the practicing state.
• Minimum of two years' supervision/ caregiving experience in a long-term care facility.
• 24-hour CE course in planning, implementing and evaluating nursing education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate theoretical and clinical orientation for new employees.
• Provide documentation supporting orientation and maintain employee files.
• Ensure timely H/Ps and TB screenings within seven days of employment.
• Develop and conduct ongoing in-service plans to meet annual 24-hour requirements.
