Avondale Villa Post-Acute in Livermore, CA seeks a Director of Staff Development to plan, implement, and evaluate the facility's nursing education program under supervision of the Director of Nursing.

Responsibilities include overseeing in-service trainings, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, coordinating safety training, and supporting the nursing staff to uphold high standards of resident care.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LVN license is required.
• DSD certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of full-time licensed nursing experience in a long-term care facility with 1 year in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing education programs.
• Alternatively, two years of full-time licensed nursing with at least one year in direct long-term resident care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and supervise comprehensive in-service education and training programs for all employees.
• Coordinate scheduling and record-keeping of orientation and in-service attendance.
• Maintain an acceptable standard of nursing practice and professional decorum.
• Evaluate nursing staff performance and provide additional instruction in deficient areas.
• Ensure knowledge and implementation of all applicable County, State, and Federal laws and regulations governing long-term care facilities.
• Coordinate the safety program and ongoing safety protocol instruction.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
• Support facility administration and its philosophy of care and policies.
• Communicate clearly with all facility staff members.
• Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise direct nursing care to improve standards.
