Job summary

Mission Points in Michigan seeks a Staff Development Coordinator to oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Staff Development Program. The role includes hands-on clinical orientation for licensed and unlicensed staff and collaboration with the Director of Nursing to ensure competency and compliance.

You will develop orientation for new and contract employees, maintain training records, manage budgets, and coordinate in-service programs and CPR training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
• Current with state CE requirements.
• Three years of nursing experience, including long-term care.
• One year of instructor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate staff development.
• Provide hands-on clinical orientation and instruction to staff.
• Develop orientation for new, rehired, and contract staff.
• Coordinate OSHA/Risk Management program and documentation.
• Ensure training meets state, federal, and accreditation standards.
• Plan in-service programs and CPR training.
• Assist with department budgeting and cost control.
• Work with DNS to ensure clinical competency and annual assessments.
• Travel as needed for facility coverage.
