Job summary

Intersect Healthcare of Big Rapids is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator to assess, plan, organize, and coordinate the staff development program across the building. The role includes clinical tasks and assisting in other departments as needed.

The ideal candidate has an RN license, is CPR certified, and has experience in training and long-term care settings. They will work with the DNS to evaluate competencies and maintain regulatory education while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Valid CPR teaching certificate.
• Current with state CE requirements.
• Three years of nursing experience, including one year in a long-term care environment.
• One year of instructor experience preferred.
• Knowledge of learning principles and training techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and coordinate the staff development program.
• Ensure that compliance training and documentation meet state, federal, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and conduct orientation for new, rehired, and contract employees.
• Provide hands-on clinical orientation for licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Coordinate OSHA/Risk Management program and documentation.
• Assist in department budgeting and manage expenditures.
• Monitor employee performance and address compliance issues.
• Conduct CPR and other required trainings as needed.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing on competency assessments for staff.
• Adhere to Intersect Healthcare policies and maintain privacy of patient and company information.
