Nurse Aide in Training at Good Samaritan Home

Become a Nurse Aide in Training at Good Samaritan Home in Oakland City, IN, and start making a difference in the lives of seniors today! This position is a great stepping stone to becoming a CNA.

Responsibilities of a Nurse Aide in Training:
  • Assist in making resident beds.
  • Transport residents in wheelchairs to activities, dining, and therapy areas efficiently.
  • Distribute clothing protectors to residents during meals.
  • Assist with setting up the dining room, including coffee and drinks.
  • Pass food trays to residents; do not assist with feeding.
  • Ensure residents have full, clean ice water pitchers and cups in their rooms at least once per shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order on the unit, including cleaning pantry, utility rooms, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, bedside tables, and organizing resident belongings.
  • Transport soiled clothing to laundry or repair.
  • Assist with linen distribution and replacement.
  • Participate in or assist with resident activities.
  • Report any unusual occurrences or significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral conditions immediately to the Unit Charge Nurse.
  • Follow privacy practices and comply with HIPAA and other relevant laws.
  • Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and maintain punctual attendance to ensure quality care.
  • Uphold C.A.R.E. values in interactions with residents, families, and staff.
