Nurse Aide in Training at Columbia Healthcare

Become a Nurse Aide in Training at Columbia Healthcare in Evansville, IN, and start making a difference in the lives of seniors today! This role is a valuable stepping stone to becoming a CNA.

Responsibilities of a Nurse Aide in Training include:
  • Assisting with making resident beds.
  • Transporting residents in wheelchairs to activities, dining, and therapy.
  • Distributing clothing protectors in the dining room.
  • Assisting with dining room setup, such as coffee and drinks.
  • Passing food trays (not assisting with feeding).
  • Ensuring residents have full, clean ice water pitchers and cups in their rooms at least once per shift.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order on the unit, including cleaning pantry, utility rooms, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, bedside tables, drawers, closets, wardrobes, and tables.
  • Keeping resident personal care items organized in bags.
  • Transporting soiled clothing to laundry or repairs.
  • Participating in or assisting with resident activities.
  • Reporting unusual occurrences or significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral conditions promptly to the Unit Charge Nurse.
  • Complying with privacy laws and company policies, including HIPAA.
  • Using and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by safety standards.
  • Demonstrating teamwork and maintaining punctuality to ensure quality care.
  • Exhibiting C.A.R.E. values in interactions with residents, families, and staff.
