Nurse Aide in Training at Columbia Healthcare

Become a Nurse Aide in Training at Columbia Healthcare in Evansville, IN, and start making a difference in the lives of seniors today! This position serves as a great stepping stone to becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assist in making resident beds and maintaining cleanliness in the unit, including cleaning pantry, utility rooms, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, bedside tables, and organizing resident personal items.
  • Transport residents in wheelchairs to activities, dining, and therapy areas efficiently.
  • Distribute clothing protectors and assist with dining room setup, including coffee and drinks.
  • Pass food trays to residents, ensuring they have access to meals without assisting with feeding.
  • Ensure residents have full and clean ice water pitchers and cups in their rooms at least once per shift.
  • Transport soiled clothing for laundry or repairs and manage linens and supplies for residents.
  • Participate in or assist with resident activities.
  • Report any unusual occurrences or significant changes in residents' physical or behavioral conditions immediately to the Unit Charge Nurse.
  • Adhere to privacy practices and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, punctuality, and uphold C.A.R.E. values to residents, families, and staff.
