The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical design, CAD/PLM tooling, and collaboration with systems engineers to meet stringent nuclear safety and performance criteria.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required.
• Master’s or Ph.D. may substitute years of experience.
• Hands-on hardware design and testing experience required.
• Proficiency with CAD and PLM software is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support mechanical/physical SSC concepts for nuclear products.
• Coordinate requirements, interfaces, and design criteria with stakeholders.
• Perform analyses to ensure SSCs meet technical specs and safety standards.
• Use hand calculations and tools for structural, thermal, hydraulic analyses.
• Develop mechanical solutions for graphite, pressure vessels, piping, and internals.
• Lead cross-functional design activities and supplier coordination.
