Job summary

X-energy seeks a Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components for nuclear products, from concept through production and testing. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and performance of SSCs, and lead design activities with minimal supervision.

The role involves creating CAD models, performing analyses, and developing verification plans, while mentoring junior engineers within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master's degree in engineering may replace two years of experience.
• Ph.D. in engineering may replace three years of experience.
• One plus years of hands-on hardware or manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with CAD/PLM software and hand calculations.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical/physical concepts and SSCs for nuclear products with a focus on safety.
• Plan and perform analyses to ensure SSCs meet technical specs and design requirements.
• Create and maintain CAD models of reactor SSCs and related components.
• Develop V&V plans and support qualification of toolsets.
• Lead core tasks with minimal supervision and mentor junior members.
