Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures with a focus on patient safety and comfort. You will setup equipment, position patients, verify orders, and ensure high-quality studies for radiologist review.

The role requires an AMA-approved NM program graduate with ARRT‑N or CNMT certification, BLS, and at least 1 year of NM experience. Schedule is day shift with full-time hours and Wellstar benefits.

Qualifications

• Accredited Radiologic Technology program completed.
• Graduate of AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program.
• ARRT-N or CNMT certification required on hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year NM clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify clinician orders, obtain complete clinical history, and assess contraindications.
• Follow established procedures for radiopharmaceutical administration.
• Ensure correct patient identification and tag with right/left markers.
• Review images for clinically acceptable results and release patients.
• Respond to emergencies and restock crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Assist other technologists in all modalities as needed.
• Maintain patient privacy and dignity throughout procedures.
• Organize schedule and priorities to meet timeframes.
• Follow Time Out and preprocedural verification processes.
• Prepare patients for procedures and maintain sterile technique.
• Demonstrate venipuncture competency and adjust technique for best image quality.
• Document and transmit studies to PACS promptly; print CDs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
