Job summary

Ascension Providence in Waco, TX is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join the Radiology department. This full-time days shift (Mon-Fri, 7:30am–4pm) location offers opportunities to operate imaging cameras, position patients, and manage radiopharmaceuticals.

You will follow safety procedures, ensure high-quality images for PACS, maintain equipment, and contribute to a clean, orderly department. Required licenses include BLS and Texas radiologic technologist certification; ARRT/NMTCB

Qualifications

  • High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Licensure/certification per Texas Radiologic Technologist standards and NMTCB/ARRT credentials as specified.
  • BLS provider certification within 1 month of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report problems or malfunctions; lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly department.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.

  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning. Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
Licenses/Certifications/Registration
What minimum requirements you’ll need
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) also accepted.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
