Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group in Chicago, IL is seeking engineers to support the design and modification of nuclear plant systems in a hybrid work arrangement. Three days in the office, two remote, with opportunities to lead project teams and interface with clients on site.

The role involves preparing or reviewing modification packages, drawings, analyses, specifications, and vendor bids, plus cost estimates and status presentations.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• At least 1 year of engineering experience or an MS degree.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design or review modification packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare functional mechanical drawings and drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating nuclear power plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Interface with clients on site and via presentations related to engineering tasks and status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
