ENERCON is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Design Engineer to support its Nuclear Design Group in the Kennewick, WA area. The role involves developing precise I&C deliverables, staying current with industry standards, and providing field support to ensure reliability and safety of nuclear facilities.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in electrical or mechanical engineering with at least 3 years of experience in I&C design, PLCs, and DCS, and US Citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or similar Engineering Degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLCs and DCS.
  • Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
  • Good writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop precise engineering drawings, calculations, and analyses meeting codes and client expectations.
  • Create engineering documents that align with ENERCON and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering solutions within QA programs.
  • Interact with clients, build long-term relationships, and provide field support as needed.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated designs.
  • Support site activities, perform plant walkdowns, and verify compliance.
