Job summary

ENERCON is hiring an Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineer for our Nuclear Design Group. The role involves designing I&C plant components, PLCs, and DCS within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient nuclear facility operation.

You will develop precise engineering deliverables, stay current with industry codes, and provide on-site support to client personnel. The position emphasizes collaboration, quality, and client relations in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of I&C plant components and controls systems including PLCs and DCS.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• US Citizenship is required by federal contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables: drawings, calculations, and analyses that meet codes and client expectations with high accuracy.
• Set engineering documents to meet client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques.
• Drive quality and precision through QA programs and rigorous project standards.
• Cultivate strong client connections through clear communication and reliable delivery.
• Collaborate across disciplines to create integrated designs meeting diverse project requirements.
• Provide field support on-site, performing plant walkdowns and ensuring compliance.
