Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, a leading nuclear engineering firm, seeks a qualified electrical engineer to join the Nuclear Power Group on a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week. You will participate in design, modification, and analysis of electrical systems for power plants, collaborating with engineers and designers to deliver client-focused solutions.

Responsibilities include performing power system studies, preparing documentation, and reviewing drawings.

Qualifications

• A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
• 3+ years experience designing electrical systems for power plants or modifications.
• Experience with medium/low voltage distribution, transformers, generators, motors.
• Experience liaison with clients in a support/lead engineering role.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective teamwork and independent work.
• Detail oriented approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Work in a project team environment with engineers/designers to design, modify, and analyze power plant electrical systems.
• Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve electrical engineering issues.
• Assist in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Prepare and review three-phase AC/DC power studies, short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, protective relay settings.
• Prepare engineering input for drawing production and reports.
• Review reports and studies meeting client requirements and company formats.
• Perform independent reviews of others' work including calculations/drawings.
• Develop project work plans.
