Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade electrical systems for nuclear power plants. You will work in a project team with engineers and designers, handling design packages, calculations, and vendor interactions.

This hybrid role requires traveling to client sites and collaborating across disciplines to ensure scope, cost, and schedule alignment. Relocation packages may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree from ABET-accredited program.
• Five+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial/nuclear projects.
• Experience with low/medium voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors, relays).
• Ability to communicate effectively with project team and client.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English (read, speak, and write).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install/upgrade plant equipment.
• Prepare calculations for AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, and breaker coordination.
• Prepare procurement specifications and participate in vendor bid evaluations.
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams and clients; support site field walks and client meetings.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
• Support site construction activities and assist project manager to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
