Enercon Services, Inc. seeks a Nuclear Chief Engineering Division Director to lead our Nuclear Engineering organization’s technical analysis and governance across mechanical, structural, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.

The role oversees SME teams across multiple offices, ensures regulatory compliance, drives innovation, and mentors senior engineers, with 25–40% travel and hybrid work from primary offices including Overland Park, KS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; advanced technical certifications or graduate degree preferred.
  • 25+ years of engineering experience in commercial nuclear power generation, design, analysis, licensing, modifications, or plant operations.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large (100+) size engineering organizations, technical programs, or discipline-specific teams.
  • Experience serving in a Chief Engineer, Engineering Director, Engineering Senior Manager, or comparable senior technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise across core engineering disciplines with working knowledge of all major nuclear engineering disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of NRC regulatory requirements, QA programs, design control processes, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations and large-scale projects.
  • Proven ability to influence technical strategy and mentor senior engineering talent.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship management, and executive leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel overnight 25-40% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, and Fire Protection Chief Analysis Teams and set engineering direction.
  • Engineering Governance & Operational Performance: Lead reviews and governance processes to support regulatory compliance, QA, and risk management.
  • Client Engagement & Industry Leadership: Represent ENERCON with utilities, regulators, and industry groups; support business development and client relations.
  • People Leadership & Talent Development: Mentor Chief Engineers and SME teams across offices; foster growth and succession planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation: Partner with Directors to ensure resources and standards support project execution and drive digital engineering initiatives.
