Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Lead Auditor to manage the nuclear QA audit program under ASME NQA-1. You will plan audits, lead a team of auditors and specialists, and ensure independence from the work audited.

Responsibilities include writing reports, verifying corrective actions, and supporting NRC- or NUPIC-style reviews. Travel to Sugar Land HQ and project sites is required with per diem reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Current qualification as an NQA-1 Lead Auditor, or qualifiable within 90 days with training, audits, and written exam per NQA-1 Part II Subpart 2.23.
• 5+ years in nuclear quality assurance with hands-on auditing to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• Working knowledge of construction materials testing, special inspection, or geotechnical services preferred.
• ASQ CQA is a plus.
• Writes audit reports that NRC inspectors could follow without conversation; comfortable delivering findings to those who caused them.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain the audit schedule for the nuclear QA program: internal audits and supplier audits.
• Lead audits end to end — notification, checklist, entrance meeting, evidence, findings, exit meeting, report — and supervise auditors and specialists.
• Evaluate and audit suppliers of safety-related items; recommend approved-supplier-list changes; perform surveillances.
• Classify findings, issue corrective-action requests, verify effectiveness, and close them with evidence.
• Maintain lead-auditor and auditor qualification records and support audits of our program.
