Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Nurse Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner to lead education, development, and change initiatives across units. The role emphasizes learning facilitation, mentorship, and advancing nursing practice through evidence-based strategies.

The NPD practitioner collaborates with inter-professional teams to drive professional growth, transition programs, and practice improvements, impacting patient care and population health within the hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (BSN) – minimum
• Master's Degree in Nursing – preferred
• Minimum 3 years clinical experience with progressive leadership and certification in a nursing specialty
• Congenital Cardiac experience strongly preferred
• California RN license – required
• ANCC Specialty Certification – minimum
• Certification in Nursing Professional Development – preferred
• ACLS and PALS certification from AHA or Red Cross

Responsibilities

• As a learning facilitator, bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessment
• As a change agent, lead process improvements using project management and improvement methods
• Mentor clinical nurses and inter-professionals; support lifelong learning and professional development
• Champion scientific inquiry; promote evidence-based practice to advance NPD
• Partner for practice transitions; support nurses and healthcare teams across learning and practice settings
