Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner to support education and professional development for nursing and healthcare staff at University Hospital/Clinic. The role operates under the CEPD Education Manager and focuses on applying NPD theories, tools, and practice to improve patient care.

The candidate will facilitate learning, lead improvement projects, mentor staff, and champion evidence-based nursing development within a dynamic health

Qualifications

Master's degree within 3 years of hire.
3 years of directly related experience, hospital/clinic setting preferred.
RN license in Texas and BLS certification; Nursing Professional Development certification within 1.5 years.

Responsibilities

NPD practitioner functions: learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty, partner for practice transitions.
Uses the educational design process: assess gaps, identify needs, develop outcomes, plan activities, implement and evaluate.
Responsible for orientation, competency management, education, professional development, research, quality improvement, and partnerships.
