Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a Commercial Lines Insurance Underwriting Specialist to grow and manage a niche book for nonprofit human services and education clients. You will advise other underwriters, assess exposures, and set coverages and premiums with a focus on profitability and competitiveness.

You will build and maintain agency relationships, work with staff on underwriting decisions, and support renewal actions while maintaining regulatory and service standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years underwriting all commercial lines (Commercial Property, GL, Professional Liability, WC, Crime, Auto, Umbrella).
• Prefer Nonprofit Human Services and Education underwriting experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage a book of commercial lines business.
• Advise other underwriters and staff on processes and procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents to drive business flow.
• Analyze exposures and determine coverages and premiums.
• Renewals: price and terms, refer or escalate as needed.
