Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Center’s budgeting, fiscal compliance, and financial strategy. This role drives revenue management and oversees accounting processes to support mission objectives.

Key tasks include developing annual budgets, managing grants and FEMA funds, and ensuring CARF and Medicaid/Insurance compliance while coordinating monthly financial reporting and strategic planning with leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or Accounting required; master’s degree highly preferred.
• Background checks will be reviewed.
• Two years of leadership experience; five years of professional business experience with a bachelor’s degree.
• Two years of professional business experience with a master’s degree; Governmental Contract Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual budget with a positive net result.
• Ensure fiscal compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Manage monthly reporting, budgeting and related processes.
• Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely, consistent processing.
• Coordinate budgets for proposals and projects.
• Manage FEMA and Grant funds for client and operating needs.
• Ensure year-end closes and deadlines are met.
• Identify gaps in revenue and expenses and propose solutions.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable staff and report to leadership.
• Prepare reports for Advisory Council and Divisional HQ.
