Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central IL Division – Headquarters seeks a Staff Accountant to support the General Fund Finance function, providing reconciliation, financial analysis and reporting to department managers for daily operations.

The role requires 2+ years accounting experience, a bachelor’s in accounting, proficiency in Excel and Shelby, and nonprofit background is preferred. This is an hourly position with room for growth within the finance team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of college education with an accounting focus; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2-3 years accounting experience in general ledger, financial analysis and reconciliations.
• Experience with computerized accounting systems and Excel.
• Experience in a nonprofit or faith-based organization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliation / analysis of general ledger accounts and resolving reconciling items.
• Prepare distributions and maintain data for monthly invoicing and grant accounting.
• Assist with internal audits and responses, reconciliations and supporting work papers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
