Job summary

Samaritan Daytop Village, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller on ledger integrity, month-end close, and complex regulatory filings. The role oversees staff, ensures compliance for Medicaid, CFR, and government grants, and guides forecasting and budgeting initiatives.

The position is based at the Briarwood headquarters with a hybrid schedule, three days in the office, and a full benefits package including retirement matching and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or active progress toward certification preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff in nonprofit accounting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end close processes.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries and variances.
• Manage compliance for government grants, Medicaid/Medicare contracts and reporting.
