Job summary

DJ's Landscape Management is hiring a Seasonal Salt Truck Driver to help keep parking lots safe during winter. No CDL necessary; a Chauffeur's License is sufficient to join the team, and MDOT credentials assistance is provided.

This part-time, seasonal role offers flexible scheduling and training support to get you started. Responsibilities include operating non-CDL salt trucks, monitoring weather conditions, and maintaining accurate logs of hours and materials.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Chauffeur's License; MDOT license assistance provided.
• Experience driving trucks or salt vehicles a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive non-CDL salt trucks to distribute salt and de-icing materials.
• Monitor weather and parking surfaces to ensure timely response.
• Contribute to safe parking lot conditions and snow removal.
• Record hours and materials accurately; complete training and routes.
• Be available for on-call work including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Duration

• Position is available for the winter season, typically from November 15 to April 15, with opportunities for full-time positions based on performance and business needs.

Requirements

• Drive Non CDL salt trucks to distribute salt and de-icing materials on commercial parking lots
• Monitor weather conditions and parking lot surfaces to ensure timely response
• Play a vital role in keeping our community safe during winter
• Work safely to complete snow removal to customer specifications and quality standards
• Submit details of hours, activities and materials in an accurate and timely manner
• Complete all training, onboarding, snow removal safety, and route learning
• Available for on-call work including nights, days, holidays, and weekend work as needed
• Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work and be able to work in extreme weather conditions including subfreezing temperatures and heavy precipitation
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Valid Chauffeurs License (company will assist in acquiring one)
• Smart Phone
• Valid MDOT (company will assist in acquiring one)
