Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Network Operations Center Engineer to remotely maintain Rivian’s charging network. You will work cross-functionally to scale NOC capabilities and handle day-to-day operations, with a focus on monitoring, incident response, and asset management across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related Information Technology discipline.
• Experience preferred using case/work order management tools (Salesforce, JIRA, Zendesk, ServiceNow).
• Understanding of charging standards and protocols: OCPP, ISO 15118, J1772, CCS, NACS.
• Understanding of dispenser state and state transitions.
• Familiar with Linux and Networking Fundamentals.
• Trustworthiness and reliability in handling finances, invoices, and customer data.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Team player mentality and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong ownership and urgency in problem solving.
• Able to communicate via telephone, email, and digital channels.
• Able to read and interpret operating and maintenance documents.
• Ability to stand for 10-12 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Support network operations of Rivian’s charging deployments.
• Provide excellent customer service support by responding to calls, emails, tickets, and Slack messages from B2B partners and cross-functional teams.
• Proactively monitor charging assets via Linux logs and remediate issues.
• Maintain site infrastructure with Rivian's asset management platform.
• Assist in commissioning new assets and configure asset properties via Linux and internal software.
• Document case information and maintain troubleshooting docs across Confluence, Salesforce, and JIRA.
• Assist in pilot testing firmware deployments for DC and AC assets.
• Collaborate to remediate hardware/software issues in the field and improve applications.
• Handle customer data with care and confidentiality.
• Take on additional duties including Holiday on-call coverage.
• Compliance with Fair Chance Ordinances where applicable.
• Commit to Sunday through Wednesday, 10am–6:30pm PST.
