Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead software design and implementation on embedded Linux platforms for charging products. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and own the CI/CD pipeline to streamline development and deployment.

You will design robust software architectures with safety in mind, mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and stay abreast of emerging technologies to keep Rivian at the forefront of EV charging solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of industry experience developing C/C++ based applications on embedded Linux.
• 3+ years with Make and CMake build tools.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.
• Experience with unit test frameworks like Google Test.
• Strong scripting and automation using Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded Linux application software for charging products.
• Develop unit tests and SIL tests to ensure code quality.
• Support CI/CD system software for building, testing and distribution.
• Develop and support software tools for development and testing.
• Create software architectures with Functional Safety in mind.
• Lead technical meetings to review system design and software architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and foster learning.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and assess their impact.
