Job summary

Hormel Foods Corporation is seeking a Centralized Transportation Dispatch Technician (Nights) for the Austin or Willmar, MN home office. The role is the primary point of contact during non-business hours (4:30PM-2:30AM or 9:30PM-7:30AM, rotating), Monday–Friday, with Saturday/Sunday shifts every 3 weeks (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).

You will track loads, communicate late truck status, and work with transportation, warehouse, and customer service teams to optimize freight spend and resolve OS&D issues.

Qualifications

• Requires dependable transactional customer service experience.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office/Office 365.
• Proven ability to initiate action independently.
• Proven ability to multitask with high accuracy.
• Knowledge of transportation processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Track loads to ensure on-time delivery and notify teams of late communications.
• Collaborate with transportation team to reduce overall freight spend.
• Provide monthly reports aligned with department KPIs.
• Resolve Over/Short/Damaged issues under minimal supervision.
• Prepare initial accident paperwork and communications.
• Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and QC to resolve issues.
