Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital - Nursing: 12C is seeking a Part-time Nursing Assistant for the night shift, 24 hours per week, with every-other-weekend coverage and rotating holidays. Benefits eligibility applies.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily patient care, taking vital signs, data entry in EMR, helping with admissions and transfers, collecting specimens, and maintaining patient safety under RN supervision. GED or high school diploma and BLS within 45 days required.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation.
• Measures and documents vital signs, I&O, daily weights in EMR and other patient data.
• Perform purposeful rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge procedures and room setup.
• Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
