Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a SOC Operator I to support a 24/7 Security Operations Center. The role focuses on receiving, prioritizing, and coordinating responses to security incidents across hospital facilities.

You will monitor surveillance and access control systems, respond to alarms, and document actions with precision. The position requires night/weekend shifts, onsite work, and a commitment to patient and staff safety.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• IAHSS Basic exam within 90 days of hire and certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to document incidents accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize incoming calls, emails, and alerts related to security incidents and emergencies.
• Dispatch security personnel to respond to incidents according to procedures.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and access control to detect incidents in real time.
• Respond to alarms and initiate appropriate response procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with security team and stakeholders during incidents.
• Record all incidents and actions in the incident management system.
• Assist with enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Provide instructions to security personnel during critical situations.
• Relay updates to hospital leadership in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with emergency services for timely response.
• Escalate high-priority incidents when needed.
• Address security hardware or software issues and liaise with vendors.
