Job summary

Meijer in Wooster, OH is seeking a store management professional to lead day-to-day operations, staff development, and customer service excellence. You will mentor team members, drive sales, and uphold Meijer standards during prime shopping hours.

This role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while controlling P&L. You’ll coordinate staff rotations, training, and safety, while delivering a positive shopping environment and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members at all levels, including hourly staff.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development needs; involved in promotion decisions.
• Documents disciplinary actions and makes discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Ensures the team is trained and completed all required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
