Job summary

Meijer is actively seeking a store leadership professional to oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, and development across multiple departments. You will mentor team members, drive customer service excellence, and manage performance and training to meet company standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, succession planning, disciplinary actions, and maintaining P&L and shrink targets while ensuring a safe, engaging store environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years retail experience.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Rotations in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Clear direction to team and strong communication.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze data for decisions.
• Proven leadership in a safety-conscious environment; mentor team members.
• Completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and career paths.
• Document disciplinary actions and recommendations on discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, sales and shrink targets.
• Model exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Mentor hourly team members and leaders to exceed goals.
• Ensure team is trained and meets training requirements.
• Spend majority of time in-store interacting with customers and staff.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain attendance.
