Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise team members across store operations in Michigan.

You will mentor staff, drive sales, manage staffing, and ensure customer service aligns with Meijer standards, while maintaining a safe, efficient, and engaging store environment. You will coordinate staffing and promotions, address disciplinary matters, and guide teams toward career development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all organizational areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development opportunities.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained in all job aspects and required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is delivered.
