Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte’s Atrium Health University City Nursing: Maternity department seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to support OR procedures and patient care. You will assist the Registered Nurse circulator, prepare patient areas and maintain strict aseptic technique throughout operations.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, BLS certification, and completion of an accredited surgical technology program or military training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or military training in Surgical Technology/Operating Room Specialist.
• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains aseptic technique and prepares supplies for procedures.
• Assists RN circulator with patient prep, supplies, and room turnover.
• Ensures sterility of equipment and proper disposition of specimens.
• Documents charges and monitors sterilization activities.
• Participates in in-services and Performance Improvement processes.
• Contributes to policy/procedure development and staff education.
