Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Sleep Technician Trainee for night shifts in Arlington Heights, IL. You will perform and score in-lab sleep studies under supervision, calibrate monitoring equipment, and educate patients on PAP therapy.

Ideal candidates are MVCC Sleep Technology students or STAR/ASTEP/CPSGT certified technologists with a strong foundation in AASM guidelines and patient care. Training rotates from day/afternoon to night shifts.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in MVCC Sleep Technology with clinical rotation or certified sleep technologist.
Be able to perform adult/pediatric sleep testing under supervision and meet competency checks.
Must understand sleep study scoring and AASM guidelines and CMS policy.
Able to educate patients on mask fitting and PAP therapy per protocol.

Responsibilities

Perform and score in-lab sleep studies under supervision with accurate documentation.
Calibrate equipment, place sensors, and ensure signal integrity during studies.
Educate patients on mask interfaces and PAP therapy prior to titration/night study.
Generate sleep reports with REM, arousal, and event analyses per guidelines.
Maintain equipment, inventory, and infection control standards.
Log issues, coordinate with IT/Biomed for any hardware or software problems.
