Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Sleep Technologist for Aurora Medical Center – Mount Pleasant to conduct overnight sleep studies and manage CPAP/BIPAP therapies. You will acquire and score data, educate patients and physicians, and maintain equipment in a safe, compliant environment.

The position requires BLS, RPSGT/RST/RRT-SDS credentials and typically two years of polysomnographic experience, with a strong focus on accuracy and patient service.

Qualifications

• Minimum advanced training beyond high school with an approved program.
• 2 years of polysomnographic technician experience typically required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) required.
• RPSGT, or RST, or RRT-SDS certification required or in progress.
• Proficient sleep study scoring with 80% interscore reliability.

Responsibilities

• Selects and applies monitoring probes and prepares PAP fittings.
• Scores sleep/wake stages and documents baseline values.
• Generates accurate reports for sleep studies and events.
• Delivers CPAP/BIPAP and O2 therapy as clinically indicated.
• Performs MS LT, MWT, AVAPS, and SV titrations as needed.
• Sets up and scores home sleep tests; ensures data quality.
• Verifies data integrity and instructs patients on questionnaires.
• Operates video/audio monitoring equipment and maintains quality.
