Job summary

Cheney Brothers is seeking a Shuttle Driver for a night shift schedule (Sunday to Saturday, 1 day off). The role involves transporting empty trailers to warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, following DOT regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 8+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 90 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) on tractor/truck and trailer per DOT rules.
• Report safety issues and needed repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is with the load for dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers per schedule; hook/unhook safely.
• Park and store trailers in designated areas.
• Secure damaged goods and returns in trailers for return to base.
• Unload equipment and keep area clean.
• Maintain daily hours-of-service logs.
• Perform other duties to support company operations.
