Job summary

Cheney Brothers, a Performance Food Group company, seeks a Shuttle Driver for night shift operations. You will transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, adhering to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role requires a CDL A with Doubles endorsement, 21+ years old, and prior driving experience. Benefits include comprehensive Day 1 health benefits and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Work third shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure one.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and inspects equipment.
• Reports safety issues and required repairs promptly.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; reports hazards.
• Inspects trailer loading and securing of freight.
• Maintains route paperwork with tractor/trailer load for dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to the route schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured at all times.
• Handles damaged goods and returns in the trailer for check-in.
• Unloads equipment and removes trash from trailers as required.
• Completes daily hours-of-service log per regulations.
• Maintains cleanliness of tractor and loading dock areas.
• Assumes other duties as assigned.
